Sponsor a project – when the task is big but your budget isn't.
CCNB's AmeriCorps programs partner with Marin and Sonoma County agencies and schools to boost capacity and improve our youth's environmental knowledge. In return, schools and agencies provide corpsmembers with job experience and mentorship. Everybody benefits. Read testimonials from past sponsors and mentors.
This service is carried out through the following programs:
Restoration & Ecosystem Management (REM) – a way to boost everyone's capacity.
REM corpsmembers add capacity to local agencies by implementing restoration, monitoring, and maintenance projects, as well as recruiting and managing volunteers. Many of these projects improve habitats for native or endangered species. Sponsoring agencies include leading natural resource professionals who mentor the AmeriCorps members. This greatly needed environmental service is provided at modest cost to our sponsors.
Project sponsors include:
- Golden Gate National Parks Conservancy
- Golden Gate National Recreation Area
- Marin Municipal Water District
- Point Reyes National Seashore
- Sonoma Ecology Center
- UC Cooperative Extension – Sonoma
Youth in Environmental Service (YES) – the young leading the young.
YES corpsmembers help schools by providing environmental education for students in grades K-12, including after-school programming. Our corpsmembers coordinate programs and projects in environmental responsibility, ocean health, habitat restoration, sustainable agriculture, gardening, energy conservation, recycling and public service.
